 Post subject: sql error in many-to-one with table/class table/subclass mix

Hibernate version: 3.1

While attempting to migrate from 2.1.8 to 3.1, I was testing a shift in mapping strategy for a particular table to the table per class and table per subclass mix. A particular subclass has a many-to-one association. Hibernate generated sql joins are being formed on the base class table instead of the joined subclass table. Is this a known issue?
