Hi there,
Haven't used Hibernate for a year. and I have always used save().
Is persist() new stuff? any difference? check the API Doc, couldn't really find any difference and neither is deprecating.

Persist sematically matches the JPA standard. Save is the same good old save. In most cases there is not much of a difference.
