Hibernate Forum - Credits

The Hibernate forum is based on a credit system to encourage users to help each other.

When you sign up, you get 10 credits to spend. Every New topic costs 1 credit.

You get credits by answering questions from other people, by replying in their thread. The original poster can then rate your answer. If she/he thinks your particular posting helped to solve the problem, you get 1 credit. If your answer didn't help solving the problem, nothing bad happens. If you are worried about not being able to answer questions - there are dozens of simple Java, non-Hibernate questions every day.

Of course, you can do the same and rate answers to your questions. This does not cost you a credit point, just a simple click you should do as a courtesy if someone helped you. The helpful Hibernate community member is awarded a point. However, you can at maximum rate positive 3 times per thread. This also means you can earn a maximum of 3 credits per thread if you are helping someone else.

You currently only need credits to post on the regular Hibernate Users forum. You can however earn credits on any forum.

If you have questions about this system, please contact the webmaster(at)hibernate.org.
